We’ve started an investigation into caring for animals! A few weeks ago our animal figures were wrapped in colorful tape, as children mended broken bones and caring for other ailments.
This week our classroom made space for our own hospital, and we spent time caring for our own stuffies, and later in the week caring for each other.

We started with finding out what pets each of us have and how we take care of those animals (or how our parents do.)
Many of the class has either dogs, cats, or fish, and we made a list of how we care for them!

Things we do to take care of our pets:
Feed them
Walk them on walks (dogs)/ go outside to go potty
Let them rest
Cuddle them

On Friday we had 3 special guests! Mabel (grade 4) and sparrow (grade 2) came with their own unique pet, Hope the bunny!
They spent some time telling us about they care for Hope. We found that they do some of the same things we do for our pets as well as a few other things that are different! Hope lives outside in a cage and comes inside sometimes. He needs plenty of exercise!

Things that Mabel and Sparrow need to do to care for their bunny:
Clean his cage
Feed him Carrots, pellets and Hay
Trim his nails
brush his fur and take out the shedding hair
We'll continue to look into how we care for animals and how other people care for pets and animals!

Lastly, we got a sneak peek at the 8th grade play, Cinderella! We saw two different scene from the play at our own preschool showing!
